The 2020 Festival will be different! This time we are excited to announce the 9th New Zealand Deaf Short Film Festival will be part of the New Zealand Deaf Games Social Programme, being held 4th – 8th January 2020. Why not make a trip to Wellington part of your Christmas and New Year holiday plans!
On 5th, 6th and 7th January, there will be two informal screenings held each day at Toitu Poneke, where the base for the NZSL Hub will be. On the 8th January, there will be a more formal screening being held prior to the Awards Ceremony, at Brentwood Hotel, in Kilbirnie.
The Awards Ceremony will be held 5pm at Brentwood Hotel in Kilbirnie. Tickets to this will be made available soon through New Zealand Deaf Games ticketing website, and part of a social programme ticket package for New Zealand Deaf Games. Following the Awards Ceremony will be the After Party for New Zealand Deaf Games. This After Party is not an event to be missed!
We also aim to have a filmmaking youth workshop on 3rd January, and the AGM for New Zealand Deaf Film Inc on 9th January. If you are keen to join the Committee for New Zealand Deaf Film Inc, join up as a member, it’s free!
New Zealand Deaf Film Inc will also be on the look out for volunteers to help out. We will need volunteers to assist with our screenings, setting up for Awards Ceremony, and helping clear up afterwards. There may also be other small jobs that we would love your help with! Get in touch if this sounds like your kind of thing.
